Launch of the New Inter-Agency Child Protection Procedures

Welcome to the webpage for the new Inter-Agency Child Protection Procedures for Safeguarding Children in Worcestershire

The new procedures are being introduced in response to Working Together to Safeguard Children October 2006. They reflect the most up-to-date legislation, accepted best practice and comply with the latest government guidance including Every Child Matters, the Children Act 2004, the Bichard Enquiry, the Laming Report 2003 and the Sexual Offences Act 2003

These electronic procedures Manual has been created as part of a jointly commissioned with Tri-X Childcare by Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire Safeguarding Children Boards.

Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Board has been fully involved in the sharing of expertise and best practice across the authorities. An extensive consultation with practitioners has also taken place which has resulted in a set of Child Protection Procedures that will ensure consistent practice and terminology across the region and that also cover the boundaries for West Mercia Police and the National Offender Management Service in the region.
